Finding report and Pictures of evidence from latest Siberian Yeti Expedition

The following is Igor Burtsev’s unedited hominology and cryptozoology results from recent events in Russia (including Siberia):

The International Scientific-Practical Conference on Hominology, organized by the International Center of Hominology (Igor Burtsev, director), with the assistance of the State Darwin Museum in Moscow (Anna Klyukina, director) and the Administration of the Tashtagol District (Vladimir Makuta, Administration Head) was held on the initiative and with the support of Dr. Aman Tuleyev, Governor of the Kemerovo Region, and a Member of the Federation Council (a Senator) Dr. Sergey Shatirov, in Gornaya (Montaneous) Shoria, on October 5 – 8, 2011.

It happened at the first time for last 50 years after the failure of an expedition to the Pamir mauntains arranged by the Commission on the question of Snowman under the Soviet Academy of Sciences, when the Governmental authorities paid attention and funded such an event as this conference, which was attended by known hominoid researchers from five countries jf the world.

Conference participants gathered in Moscow and had the first session in the State Darwin museum on October 5, after on October 6 in Tashtagol City, heard and discussed presented reports.

In the program of the Conference the participants also took part in field trips to the Azass cave and the Karatag mountain. During these field trips fresh substantial evidences were obtained of the presence in Gornaya Shoria of bipedal primates, standing very close to Homo sapiens in their essence and intellectual development. The usual names for them in the popular press in Eurasia are “snowman”, yeti, almas, almasty; in North America — bigfoot and sasquatch; in scientific circles — hominoid (homin, for short), troglodyte.

The evidences exist, first of all, in the form of so-called “markers”, i.e. specific wooden structures. (These structures are long established signs of hominoid habitats in North America, Eurasia and Australia). Such markers were found first by Anatoly Fokin, conference participant from the city of Kirov, already on foot way to the Azass cave: young fir tree tops broken at the height of 2.5 meters. Another evidence – specifically broken branches of a big larch downed probably by hurricane, attracted the attention of Robin Lynne from Mich, USA; and what was most spectacular — a double arch construction, each one of two rowan tree crowns that were intertwined, resembling thus a wide gate, also discovered by Anatoly Fokin on approach to the cave.

In the cave itself, humanlike footprints were found, from one of which were picked up over a dozen hairs of unknown origin. Another track showed imprints of five toes, bigger than human, and even with dermal ridges, also bigger than human. The width of the imprint at the toes is 16 cm (6 1/2 “), which is half as much again compared to human foot as, for example Nikolay Valuev’s one. This footprint was next to a low long niche the floor of which was covered with a thick ‘carpet’ of ferns that were not yet fully dry and formed a soft bed.

All of that were evidences that the cave had recently been visited by at least one creature, sort of justifying its species name Homo troglodytes (caveman), that was given to it back in the 18th century by the great classifier Linnaeus.

Before ascending the Karatag, that translates from the Shor language as “Black Mountain”, our guide, Ust-Kabyrza policeman Valery Topakov, led us to one more arch structure of two young alders, whose tops were intertwined like it was in the arch in front of the cave. He found that arch a couple weeks ago while investigating a report by some guests-fishermen about a beast seen by them in that location.

By the way, a similar arch of a rowan and birch had been found two years ago by me together with local searchers in the St.-Petersbourg region.

Lastly, marvelous finds were brought by the climb up the Karatag mountain, where during my previous trips here numerous signs of homin presence had already been noted in the form of broken tree limbs and intertwined branches. This time it was an interesting shelter, made of a giant fallen fir tree, whose branches were bent and figured, thus forming a large niche, which can be used for having a rest or as shelter from bad weather, and was covered with pieces of broken branches of other trees. A meter distance from the entrance to it was another arch formed by a thin long alder trunk bent and stuck under the twig of a larch standing nearby.

But the most surprising structure was discovered by chance by a TV group: eight-nine young firs broken elsewhere, brought together and placed with their top against the trunk of a high fir, forming a conic shelter with entrance on one side.

All these finds are evidences of undoubted existence in the wilderness of Gornaya Shoria of hominoids, or troglodytes — bipedal beings that do not use fire, tools and garments, but who are close to Homo sapiens as regards their level of development.

Expedition finds proof of Yeti in Kemerovo Region of Siberia

The Russian coal-mining region of Kemerovo said in a statement on its website that footprints and possibly even hair samples belonging to the yeti were found on the research trip to its remote mountains.

“During the expedition to the Azasskaya cave, conference participants gathered indisputable proof that the Shoria mountains are inhabited by the ‘Snow Man’,” the Kemerovo region administration said.

The expedition was organised after Kemerovo’s governor invited researchers from the United States, Canada, and several other countries to share their research and stories of encounters with the creature at a conference.

“They found his footprints, his supposed bed, and various markers with which the yeti marks his territory,” the statement said. The collected “artifacts” will be analysed in a special laboratory, it said.

Yetis, or Abominable Snowmen, are hairy ape-like creatures of popular myth, that are generally held to inhabit the Himalayas.

But some believe Russia also holds a population of yetis, which it calls Snow Men, in remote areas of Siberia.

Kemerovo region’s Shoria is a sparsely populated territory in Western Siberia that has historically been a territory of coal and metal mining.

The region, the administrative centre of Kuznetsk coal basin, has pursued the elusive Yeti for several years as it tries to develop tourism into its mostly industrial economy.

Considering the latest findings, the region may “create a special research center to study the Yeti” in the regional university and “create a journal” dedicated to the science of the Yeti, the administration’s statement said. If you have any new information to add to this investigation, please contact leave a message with your local answering services for the proper authorities.

Watch out the Abominable Snowman, scientists are out to get you. An international team of scientists including Russian and the U.S. researchers will hunt down the mythical Yeti after a spurt of sightings in Kemerova region of Siberia.

Scientists from the U.S., Russia, Canada, Sweden, Estonia, and Mongolia were invited to discover signs of the Yeti in a region that many experts claim are home to at least 30 of the creatures. The expedition and conference later this week is the largest of its kind since 1958 when scientists from the Soviet Academy of Sciences led an expedition into Siberia to locate the Yeti. And in an astonishing display of international cooperation, U.S. and Russian scientists have even agreed to share secret Cold War evidence on the legendary creatures.

The expedition and conference were prompted by a spike in recent sightings of the Yeti in the Kemerovo region about 3,000 miles east of Moscow and in the neighboring Altai region. Other evidence such as basic twig huts; twisted branches and footprints have also been found in the area. Scientists even estimate that there are several dozen Yeti in the region.

A recent report form a Russian witness who claims to have seen the Yeti and that it walked like a human being.

“It was still a tall creature, but not giant. It was covered with long brown-grey hair, like a bear. It wasn’t a bear – I have lived all my life in Siberia and wouldn’t make that mistake. This creature walked like a human, or almost like a human,” Raisa Sudochakova said.

This week’s expedition will begin at the International Centre of Hominology in Tashtagol. The scientists will then head in the region’s mountains to scour for signs of the Yeti.

Igor Burtsey, head of the International Centre of Hominology believes the Yeti is surviving Neanderthals who live in the Kuzbass mining areas.

“When Homo sapiens started populating the world, it viciously exterminated its closest relative in the hominid family, Homo neanderthalensis. Some of the Neanderthals, however, may have survived to this day in some mountainous wooded habitats that are more or less off limits to their arch foes,” Burtsey said.

“Russian Yeti Footprints”

Former world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev is to lead a hunt for a mysterious creature known as the ‘Russian Yeti’.

The 38-year-old fighter – who lost his WBA title to David Haye in 2009 – is currently on a career break as he recovers from bone and joint problems.

But his health issues won’t stop him from leading a two-day mission to Siberia to hunt down the animal also known as the Kuzbass Bigfoot, a strange, humanoid creature thought to live in or around the Shoriya Mountains.

The beast has been spotted dozens of times in the Kuzbass region of southern Siberia and has become something of a tourist attraction in the local area, with hotels and restaurants naming themselves after it. The mystery creature even has its own Twitter account, presumably set up by some bright spark at the local tourist board.

Valuev – who is, ironically, famous for his inhumanly large frame – has become so intrigued by the stories of the eight-foot, hair-covered monster that he is determined to find it.

“I would like to see firsthand what is going on,” said the boxer, who has had all manner of injections and vaccinations ahead of his expedition to the remote region. “I’ll draw my own conclusions once I’ve been there.”

The first known traces of the Russian Yeti date back to 2005, when hunters found and photographed giant footprints in the snow.

Since then, the local council has been inundated with messages from hunters and hill walkers claiming to have spotted the beast.

And no doubt those imagined sightings will only increase when the 7ft, 23-stone Valuev is in the area.

Yet some remain sceptical of the boxer’s chances of successly witnessing the creature. As one local put it, “Valuev might be about the same size as our Yeti, but I don’t think it is going to come and see him because of that.”

Pilot to return to Nepal with replica ‘yeti hand’ as search for original artifacts continue

Author: CryPtoReporter  |  Category: Crypto News  |  Comments (0)  |  Add Comment

Weta_workshop_yeti_hand

Yetis, monks, thieves and Jimmy Stewart. Mike Allsop’s tale has all the makings of a Hollywood movie.

But there is nothing phony about his mission to help restore the pride of the 1000-year-old Pangboche monastery in Nepal, nestled high in the Himalayan foothills near Mt Everest base camp.

Mr Allsop, an Air New Zealand pilot, Everest climber and adventurer, will return to the monastery this month with a special gift from Sir Richard Taylor’s Weta Workshop.

The replica hand is a copy of the monastery’s “original” yeti hand, which was stolen by persons unknown in the 1990s.

The hand, and part of a skull that proved to be from a rare goat, provided the monastery’s small source of income, from tourists who came to see the artefacts.

In the 1950s, explorer Peter Byrne and Hollywood actor Jimmy Stewart conspired to take one finger from the hand and have it tested in Britain, but the results were inconclusive, Mr Allsop said.

“There’s two stories – one says Peter Byrne got the monks drunk and switched the finger. But I’ve spoken to him, and he says he offered to pay the monks and they agreed to let him take it.”

Since the rest of the skeletal hand and the skull part were pinched in the 1990s, the monastery and its leader, Lama Gershe, have been without their main source of income. Mr Allsop hopes the replica items will help it survive until he can track down the originals.

He admits being sceptical about the existence of yetis, but said the legend was real enough to the monks.

“I asked Lama Gershe if he believed in it, and he started arguing with his wife in front of me. His daughter was translating for me and I asked her what they were fighting about.

“She told me he’d said his wife’s friend was attacked at her back door by a yeti five years ago – and she’d said no, it was 10 years.

“And the sherpas, if they’re around other people, they’ll tell you they don’t believe, but get them alone and they’ll say: ‘We don’t have problems with yetis … except in monsoon season.”‘

Mr Allsop has had a special connection with Pangboche since he first visited on his way to climb Everest in 2007. Lama Gershe helped to name his youngest son, Dylan Michael Dalha Allsop.

Last year when his eldest son, Ethan, turned seven he took him to see Everest and Pangboche, and plans to do the same with his younger children when they reach the same age.

He will leave for the monastery, with 15 Air New Zealand staff, on April 17 to install the replica artefacts in a secure glass case.

He hopes his campaign, Return The Hand, will locate the original bones, but time may be running out for Lama Gershe, who suffered a stroke last year.

THE MYTH OF THE YETI

The yeti, or abominable snowman, is one of the most famous mythological creatures. It is said to inhabit the mountainous areas of Nepal, Tibet and India.

Several explorers, including Peter Byrne, believe they have found tracks and dung belonging to yeti.

Sir Edmund Hillary, conqueror of Mt Everest, led an expedition in 1960 with a team of 21 scientists, climbers and other specialists, along with 310 Sherpas, to do scientific research on acclimatisation to altitude and to hunt for yetis. They failed to find any but brought back hair samples. Fellow Everest conqueror Tenzing Norgay told Sir Ed his father had twice seen a yeti.

Sir Ed’s long-time friend, Tom Scott, said Sir Ed did not believe in the yeti but liked the concept. “The locals believed in them and Ed felt really bad for myth-busting them. He liked the possibility of the yeti. If someone found one, he would have been delighted.”

Russia setting up a university research institute to study the Yeti

Igor Burtsev

Scientist Igor Burtsev – will head Yeti Institute

Russia is setting up a university research institute to study the Yeti after a spate of claimed recent sightings in Siberia.

Scientists say they have found 15 witnesses in the past year who gave statements that they saw the Abominable Snowman in one remote area .

‘We spoke to local residents’, said Dr Igor Burtsev, who conducted an expedition last summer and will head the new institute at Kemerovo State University. ‘They told us Yetis were stealing their animals.’

The academic claims around 30 Yetis live in a remote region of Mount Shoria in in southern Siberia.

He strongly denies accusations that the ’sightings’ are a bizarre ruse to attract tourists to the far-flung region.

Reports say the two-legged creatures are heavy-set, more around 7ft tall and resemble bears.

‘Their bodies were covered in red and black fur, and they could climb trees,’ said one account.

One villager, Afanasy Kiskorov, even claimed to scientists that he rescued a Yeti on a hunting trip a year ago.

The creature was screaming in fear after falling into a swollen mountain river, he said.

His version suggested a ’strange creature, looking like a huge man which tried several times to get out of water and to stand up on both feet, but dropped into the water each time and was howling’.

As his fellow-hunters ‘froze’ in amazement, Kiskorov held out a dry tree trunk.

‘The creature clutched to it and crawled to the bank,’ he said.

The Yeti allegedly then ran off.  This ’sighting’ was in the Tashtagol district of the Kemerovo Region, only accessible by helicopter.  However, no photographic evidence exists.

Other accounts say the Yetis steal hens and sheep from remote villages.

According to Burtsev, Yetis are Neandethal men who have survived to this day

‘In Russia there are about 30 authoritative scientists who are engaged in studying the phenomenon of the ‘Abonimable Snowman’. All of them will be integrated into this institute,’ said Dr Burtsev.

The ‘primary goal’ is to ‘establish contact’ with one of the creatures.

Leading Russian scientists deny the existence of the Yeti. An expensive Soviet expedition in central Asia found traces but no clear proof of the existence of the Yetis.

Siberian Yeti’s at war with Bears ?

Author: CryPtoReporter  |  Category: Crypto News  |  Comments (0)  |  Add Comment

yeti sketch

“Yeti Sketch”

An expedition that was looking for the mysterious yeti in Mountain Shoria – a faraway region in the Siberian taiga – has recently returned home. The expedition’s members claim that the forest fires of this extremely hot summer made Altai yetis move to the Kuzbass region, where they have started a “war” with local bears.

Searches for this mysterious creature, also known as “bigfoot” or “snowman”, started several decades ago. People look for yetis – or, at least, their traces – elsewhere: in Canada, Europe, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Russia. Several times, yetis’ traces have been found – footsteps that resemble that of humans but are too big for a man, flocks of hair or gigantic branch shelters in forests. In 1967, a certain Roger Patterson even filmed a yeti in northern California, but experts still argue whether this shooting is real or fake.

This year’s expedition to Mountain Shoria is already the third. One of its participants, the director of the International Center for Hominology Igor Burtsev assures that yetis leave traces of their stay in the taiga and fight with local bears.

“They make strange pyramidal constructions of trunks and branches in the wood – sometimes 3 or 4 meters, sometimes only 30 cm high. Sometimes they bend huge trees and twist their trunks like wheels. A human being is just not strong enough for that, and there seems to be no need for bears to do this. At first, we thought that yetis do this to make shelters, but then we came to the conclusion that this is a sort of landmark for them. Or, maybe, this is a way for a yeti to say something to its congeners.”

Igor Burtsev has talked with local residents who claim that they have seen yetis with their own eyes. Sometimes, farmers take them for wood goblins.

“Folk beliefs say that the wood goblin is the master of the woods. All animals, even bears, submit to him. The wood goblin has a strong hypnotic power, thus he is not afraid of any animal.”

Scientists think that these ancient beliefs do have some grounding – it seems that today yetis in Siberia are competing with bears, and the yetis are winning – they are obviously stronger and have rudimentary intellect. If this “war” between yetis and bears continues, there is a risk that bears will not sleep this winter because of a shortage of food, instead going to villages in search of something to eat. To prevent this, the region’s authorities plan to organize bear feeding. However, it seems that local residents have already found a common language with the yetis – they leave candies for them and communicate with them mentally – yetis are believed to be telepathic. Igor Burtsev even claims that to a certain extent, yetis can imitate the human language. “I would, without doubt, call the yeti another species of man,” he says.

Search for Yeti (abominable snowman) continues in Siberia

Possible Yeti Photo

A fourth science expedition has left for Mountain Shoria (a territory in Southern Siberia, east of the Altai Mountains) earlier on Wednesday in search of any traces of the abominable snowman. Taking part in the expedition will be the director of the International Center for Hominology, Igor Burtsev, deputy president of the public association Kosmopoisk, Vasily Dovgoshei, History Doctor Valery Kimeyev and other experts.

As Igor Burtsev, a participant in several previous expeditions, has told Itar-Tass, the search will last for about ten days. The experts are determined to find irrefutable evidence the Bigfoot (also known by the names of Sasquatch and Yeti) does exist.

“During the previous expedition a year ago I saw markers (half-broken branches) the creature uses to mark the controlled territory,” Burtsev said.

“Mountain Shoria is a perfect place for yetis. It is a sparsely populated, mountainous area, where there are many caves, it is relatively warm and there are sources of pure fresh water. In the mountain rivers fish is in abundance and hunting in the forests must be really good. I reckon the Bigfoot likes to go fowling. In the woods I have found several artifacts to confirm my theory of mine. This time I plan to find the Bigfoot’s shelter and even try to contact the creature.”

The head of the Tashtagol District, Vladimir Makuta, says that the first mention of Bigfoot’s presence in Mountain Shoria dates back to 1980. The creatures seem to have gone especially active over the past three years.

Is Bigfoot in Florida ?

Author: CryPtoReporter  |  Category: Sightings  |  Comments (7)  |  Add Comment

It is for those who claim they have seen the elusive ape-like creature roaming the woods and swamps of Florida including Polk County’s Green Swamp. Sightings of the animal have been reported around the world but rare, with quality photographs and videos even rarer.

Bigfoot and Sasquatch are names familiar to North Americans who have aggressively pursued evidence of the animal’s actual existence. As of this date only occasional sightings have been reported within any given year with no physical evidence ever found, other than hair samples whose DNA does not match that of any known animal.

Some speculate the creature is an offspring of a prehistoric monster ape that towered as tall as 15 feet and weighed 800 pounds, thought to be extinct hundreds of thousands of years ago.

A popular TV program, “Monster Quest,” which sponsors numerous expeditions to confirm reports of rare or unknown wild beasts, reptiles and giant birds, has drawn more light on the subject and predictably, claimed sightings have increased exponentially. The expeditions to confirm the beast’s existence have traveled worldwide and covered most continents.

The name Bigfoot has been associated with the ape-like creature in North America; Sasquatch for the same creature but referring to the Indian name that is centuries old. The Abominable Snowman or Yeti originated from footprint sightings in the Himalayan Mountains and has spread to most countries.

Many of the Bigfoot observations, particularly those observed in Florida’s swamp areas, including Polk County’s Green Swamp, have been reported to have a very pungent and musty rotten egg smell, resulting in the moniker “Skunk Ape.” The sightings report the creature’s hair or fur varies between black, brown or reddish – the latter similar to an Orangutan’s.

Fresh and distinctive footprints, measuring up to 15-inches, have been observed and numerous plaster cast impressions successfully recovered. At several locations where footprints of the ape-man have been seen, samples of hair also have been recovered and failed to match that of any indigenous animal, with the exception of a small percentage that turned out to be bear-related.

One is led to believe that with as many people reporting what they saw as real and described as a giant upright ape, seven to 10 feet tall and weighing up to 500 pounds or more, have, for the most part, passed polygraph testing. Observations have come from a variety of credible sources including naturalists, forest rangers, surveyors, loggers and members of professional expeditions.

All sightings reveal the creature to be bipedal, or walking and running upright on two feet.

The creature has been observed as capable of superhuman feats such as jumping over obstacles as high as five feet or clearing streams 12 feet wide with ease; feats highly unlikely for a human being to accomplish while wearing a heavy monkey suit.

Skeptics speculate the creature is a manifestation of those with a vivid imagination or simply a man dressed in a clever gorilla suit and imitating a Sasquatch. The height of the observed creatures and the size of the footprint and weight required to create a deep imprint as those observed would make it almost impossible to replicate in the remote woods by a human being.

The observed physical abilities of the creature far exceed anything humanly possible, especially in hot and humid Florida, wearing a suit of thick hair and running 100 yards or more in 90 degree weather.

Only verifiable physical evidence will erase the doubt the vast majority of people have as to the validity of Bigfoot, especially as reported in Polk County’s Green Swamp.

Fortunately, no one as of this date has shot and killed a Sasquatch to prove they exist. It would be an unforgivable act if someone did.

Team to hunt for mysterious Orang-Pendek

Author: CryPtoReporter  |  Category: Crypto News  |  Comments (0)  |  Add Comment

A group of British explorers and scientists from the North-Devon based Centre for Fortean Zoology (CFZ), the world’s largest mystery animal research organisation, is about to embark on an expedition in search of a yeti-like creature in Indonesia.

The four-man team will search the jungles of Sumatra for what locals call the “orang-pendek.”. The powerfully built, upright-walking beast may be related to both the orang-utan and the much larger yeti of mainland Asia.

In the same island chain remains of the tiny hominid known as Homo floresiensis were unearthed in 2003.

The Kubu people – an ancient race who were the first inhabitants of Sumatra – will aid the team. The tribe and their chief have seen the creature in their poorly explored jungle homelands.

Westerners have sighted the orang-pendek too, including Englishwoman Debbie Martyr, now head of the Indonesian tiger conservation group, and wildlife photographer Jeremy Holden.

Also reported in the same jungles are huge horned snakes said to be ten metres long, and a savage, golden cat with a stubby tail and large canine fangs.

The expedition’s zoologist, Richard Freeman, Zoological Director of the CFZ, said: “The orang-pendek is especially interesting as it is an ape that walks upright rather than on all fours. It may show us how our own ancestors first began bipedal locomotion.

“The cigau may be a surviving form of Homotherium or scimitar cat, which is a beast related to the better known sabre-toothed cats. Fossils of this animal have been found in Indonesia that are only 10,000 years old. In evolutionary or geological terms that is yesterday.

“The giant snakes, known as ‘nagas’ by the Kubu, may be a new species. There are horned snakes such as the rhinoceros viper and the horned viper, but these are small. The nagas of the Kubu are said to be ten metres long! The ‘horns’ are probably modified scales.

“New species are turning up in Indonesia all the time; it is the real life lost world.”

Team leader Adam Davis, together with Dr Chris Clark and Dave Archer, will join Mr Freeman.
